Grief stricken from hardship and heartbreak over losing his beloved daughter and mother, Gary Manson took his own life on April 22nd, 2022. By his humble request he asked for no service, ceremony, or funeral but for those who care to celebrate his life if they can find it in their hearts to forgive him for his own devastated emotional state and the things he had done because of such distress.
Both his brother and his nephew filed for orders of protection against One-Legged-Gary, claiming to be in fear for their lives. After refusing to allow him to visit his own mother, and then framing Gary for credit fraud, theft, and impersonating his own mother while she died and he was left helpless and cut out of the will, both Steve Mansons filed very dramatic petitions for orders of protection against Gary Manson. He was unable to get to court and the orders were granted in his absence and inability to defend himself, despite not even being properly served.
Gary hadn't made it clear toward the end whether he felt remorse for refusing to be vaccinated against COVID-19 at first only to then watch his daughter die in isolation, and then his own mother. While his mother died at the age of 79 with stage 4 cancer, her terminal life was cut short by a bout with COVID-19 before having the chance to get chemo therapy.
The brothers, Gary and Steve had a fight before he died, never reconciling. It is curious now Steve may be facing even more charges regarding crimes he accused his brother of before his brother took his own life. Both Steve Mansons were charged with credit theft, and the estate of Joanne Manson was sued. Both Steves accuse the dead Gary of having stolen the money, despite that witness and camera evidence very clearly demonstrate they were the ones who took her credit cards and spent her money while her corpse was still warm. Stevens Manson were allegedly found guilty of credit theft, fraud, and other criminal misdemeanor and felony charges only after Gary had already committed suicide.
The Steves Manson then went on to attack Gary's son-in-law who lives in Springfield IL in apparent attempt to extort him out of the late Gary Manson and Amanda Buress' property.
Because of this unsettled conflict, his obituary originally omitted both Steve and his Grandmother. Friends of the family reported the inconsistency to safeguard historical family records and some of the obituary pages have since been corrected.
